Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi believes Arsenal will want revenge ahead of their Champions League clash at the San Siro.
The Gunners go into the match having taken just one point from their last three Premier League matches, and just four days after suffering a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle.
Inter are unbeaten in their last seven matches and have not conceded a goal in Europe so far this season.
But ahead of Wednesday’s draw, Inzaghi warned: “It’s likely they (Arsenal) will have reason to take revenge.”
“I watched them play against Newcastle, but playing against them is really difficult. It was an interesting match, but we know we are going to face a team who will want to put on a show.
Inter are one point behind table-toppers Napoli in their Serie title defense and host their rivals on Sunday.
But when asked which game his side needed to win the most, Inzaghi hailed Mikel Arteta’s side, who are expected to welcome back captain Martin Odegaard following his trip to Italy following a two-month absence due to of an ankle problem.
“We will have to win both matches,” Inzaghi said. “We know we are facing two very strong teams, but we are focusing on tomorrow.
“Arsenal is very well known, with a great coach like Arteta and a clear, aggressive and dynamic identity.
“They have faced Manchester City in the last two seasons and they are one of the strongest teams in Europe. Arsenal are our top priority, last year they went far and are one of the favorites to win the competition.
The Nerazzurri were held to a goalless draw at Pep Guardiola’s City in September before winning their next two Champions League matches – a 4-0 victory over Red Star Belgrade before a late 1-0 triumph. 0 among Young Boys.
Inzaghi was asked if he expected a test similar to that at the Etihad Stadium.
“In theory we will try to have the ball as much as possible, but they know how to press very well offensively,” he replied.
“We know it will be a problem for us when we don’t have the ball, but it’s the same for them when we have the ball.
“With English football we are talking about a brand of football that everyone loves. It’s fascinating, but I’m really happy at Inter. We are one of the best teams in Europe.
